The refrigerator is well insulated and will not be affected at all even if they were butted tightly against each other.

If you have no other choice on where to put appliances then you will have to. It is not the best layout, in fact I don't know if you have heard of feng shui but I did some reading on it and according to that practice it is bad to place a refrigerator next to a stove. That said, my mother has a rental house and the refrigerator must go next to the stove in that kitchen. Everyone seems to survive living there. It really just isn't the best -- a kitchen counter next to it would be a whole lot better arrangement.

yes, but the fridge will have to work extra hard to keep cold when the stove/oven is turned on unless there is an insulating layer between them. Often in new homes when the fridge and stove are next to each other theyr is a cabinet wall separating them

Not a good idea. The compressor will be forced to work extra hard & will go on the fritz before to long. At one time that was how kitchen lay outs were done, Thus this re-occurring thing with the fridge. They then went to put so space or a divider of some sort between them.

I am pretty sure it won't kill you or anything.
But It isn't a very good idea, since the stove gets hot and the fridge is cold. The stove and fridge would kinda work against each other.
The fridge would have to work harder to stay cold. And when you mix the heat and cold, the appliances would "sweat", you know condensation.
Don't do it if you don't have to.

Let me put it to you this way: Yesterday: Warm and fluffy freshly scrambled eggs Today: Cold and chewy scrambled eggs (Still fresh though) *Best solution for me: Mix with some mayonnaise and make an egg & mayo sandwich

The fridge and oven are both insulated, so i dont understand how these people think it could possibly be bad.
IT doesnt sound like the best thing, but I doubt it will hurt anything.
Just leave a little space around the fridge like you would anyway, and its all good

It is the worst thing you can do energy wise. However if you have no choice then put a piece of fire proof insulation between the two, or leave at least three inches of air space.
