The answer is Yes! I said the very some thing when J.T. released his first solo project. I know that you are looking at Justin from a musical and talent aspect, not his personal life or comparing the personal life of Michael to Justin. After breaking off from the Jackson 5 Michael made became the "king of pop" because he got everyone on the dance floor with incredible songs, great vocals, and memorable beats. (DON'T HATE, YOU KNOW YOU LOVE THRILLER!!)
With Justin, after leaving 'Nsync, no one knew what to expect from the boy band blonde. We all knew he could hit those high notes along with J.C. but who was the real lead? J.C. had Justin in the dance moves but, couldn't hold a match to his solo sales. Not only were the kids buying Justin so were a slew of Adults... because his voice reminded them of Michael Jackson, old school Michael not this strange incarnation of Michael we now know. There Is a reason why he is being compared to M.J. and not Prince.
I think it hit home even more-so when Justin's first video hit TRL and every one could see "This kid can move!"
As hard as it is to believe, in the early 80's, Michael Jackson was sexy. Now, in the 00's we have all of these solo pop artist who come and go but, Justin, I believe will be here for quite sometime. Yes, Justin will be Justin but you can't say that he isn't influence by M.J. and it will always come through in some way, shape and form. If you love him or not, all hail the Pence of Pop.
