Pujols, he has taken a lot of records and still has a few years to come.

There are many. But you could make arguments that (1) Stan Musial is the best National League hitter ever and (2) Bob Gibson is the best pitcher ever. It's between those two.
But in the same franchise you also have one of the top 2 greatest base-stealers of all-time in Lou Brock and arguably the greatest defensive shortstop of all-time in Ozzie Smith.
However, someday I have a feeling Albert Pujols will definitely have a place in this argument as the greatest Cardinal ever.

Stan Musial, without a doubt. Go to any baseball stats site and look at the career leaders in offensive categories. In several categories Musial is in the top ten, and he is in the top twenty in most everything. This is since the start of baseball history! Musial was definitely The Man!
If he can continue, Albert Pujols could surpass most of Musial's Cardinals records, but that remains to be seen.

There have been many great ones. When I think of the Cards, players like Lou Brock, Pujols, McGwire, Bob Gibson, and others come to mind. But I would have to argue that the best Cardinal of all-time would be Stan Musial.

Wow, I can't believe not one Cardinals fan has mentioned Rogers Hornsby - 2 time triple crown winner - highest BA(.424) in the 20th century - Second highest BA in the history of baseball...The greatest all around 2nd baseman in the history of the game...

Rogers Hornsby was the NL equivalent of Babe Ruth, from 1920-1925.
I'm a huge Cardinals fan and Stan Musial is my favorite all time player but even he was not as great as Hornsby...I would however argue with anyone that Musial is the greatest NL outfielder of all time...His BA, OB% and SLG are all better than Mays or Aaron

Stan Musial. Although the Cards have had several really great players in their history, he is the one considered by most to be one of the best ever. I also think that his name has a better ring to it.
