Your question isn't totally clear but I can give you a few thoughts - for what they are worth. The actual cause of the Civil War was really states rights, not just slavery like they teach you in school. To oversimplify a bit, the southern states generally felt that their state governments should be stronger than the federal government and that the feds did not have the power or the right to interfere in their business. Northern states went with the belief that the federal government did have that right and that states couldnt just leave the country if they didnt like the rules.

So the south tried to leave, the north fought to keep them, the north won, and the rest is history. The impacts of this are numerous and alot of it depends on who you ask. THere are those down south who still refer to the Civil War as the War of Northern Agression and some who still wish they could be part of the Confederate States of America (CSA) instead of the USA.
