I have a Bachelor's degree and three years with my present district. Housing is all that worries the heck out of me...decent neighborhood, good schools, etc. I have a great family, I just am not happy up north (recent seperation and town not big enough for both of us). My kids are okay with moving, and I think I deserve to be content. I prefer Texas, but at this point will consider anywhere warm that I can secure decent housing via Michigan. Please help with the brainstorming phase!?!

I don't care what my situation sounds like to anyone else, or else I would have given more information, including the fact that I was a widow with four kids before my ex came along. However, I do sincerely appreciate those with more empathetic, non-judmental views. Lastly, I would like to remind everyone that ugliness on the part of others, keeps many women from ever trying to get out of abusive situations. Luckily, I am not or was not in that situation; but, look how quickly others are to judge! Sweep your own doorsteps!

If you are looking for a city that is not too big and not too small I would say try Memphis. We lived in New York, Dayton, Honolulu, San Juan and Atlanta. Memphis has variety but not overwhelming and not expensive. If you prefer Texas you should check it out thoroughly first. Realtors can help you figure things out by providing the kind of community and housing market information you need. Some places we like have just gotten so expensive. You'll find the right place.

You and your ex have to grow up and stop being so selfish. Seven kids deserve to have both parents close by.

You are an adult. That town IS big enough for both of you.
