Can anyone come up with a sensible suggestion for a break between that **** period Xmas day and New Years eve ie a city break or holiday. Somewhere alive and entertaining and dont you dare say Butlins

Amsterdam or Barcelona are great that time of year. Good cheap holiday for a few days.

Why not visit Edinburgh, there is so much on during this period (may have trouble booking accomadation now)
