i have added a 2 way light switch to a stud wall i have built. i have used 3 core and earth to do this and on 1 box the earth will join the earth for the power supply however i am unsure where to terminate the earth for the box where only the 3 core cable enters as there is no earth point in the box due to it being a drywall box

if the box is made of plastic you can leave the ground wire there sitting, safely maintained and caped. the plastic box dont need to be grounded, it's not conductive.

if the box is made out of metal and you have no screw left on the box you can use a self tap screw to fix the ground wire.

All box have to be grounded if they are made of metal. Dont forget, ground always have to be connected like the other wire. not ' bridged ' in any way. Also the Ground screw need to be tighly screwed with 1 wire from the ground not couple of wire twisted together.

Is the 2 way switch metal? If so there should be an earth terminal on the switch plate, connect your wire there.

If it's a normal white switch just terminate it in a connector block, don't cut it off and NEVER leave a wire just dangling inside anywhere!

Remember to sleeve it with Green and Yellow Earth sleeving.

Simply put the earth ( cpc ) into a connector.
If the switch is metal then terminate to the metalwork of the switch.
Make sure that your work does not fall under Part "P" of the building regulations.
It is an offence not to have this work tested, certified and notified to the local authority ( if applicable )

You should have a green screw somewhere on the frame of the switch. Put a small curl on the end of the ground wire and lug it under this screw.
