Actually the words "freedom of/from religion" is not in the bill of rights at ALL!
Surprised? look at it .....http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/constitution.billofrights.html
it clearly states: Bill of Rights
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
It was designed to keep GOVERNMENT out of religion...not religion out of GOVERNMENT! Don't believe me? Then why is God referenced on our money? On our government buildings? In our constitution?
The ACLu is a very dangerous organization. They are trying to remove the very foundations our forefathers fought and died for. Don't let them.

No, it isn't right. Unfortunately, some have misinterpreted the meaning of "freedom of religion" to mean "Freedom FROM religion." What can we do about it? Well, St. Francis of Assisi said, "Preach the Gospel always, and if necessary, use words." Our actions as Christians of all denominations tell the world more than anything else just who we are. If we live Christ-like lives to the best of our abilities, no one can take that away. Not any government, and certainly not the ACLU.

They ACLU was created to protect those against the Man but lately they have been taking things too far. I do not agree with taking Christ out of politics. Specially when it has some sort of historical merit. Like in Los Angeles they were trying to take out the cross out of the city logo. The city was founded by Spanish and Mexican missionaries.
Sometimes I think if I would have the same opinion if the US was founded in part by Islam. As a Christian, I think I would have to respect those who founded the country/cities as well as any religious contents in public affairs like statues or what have you.

Here is the ACLU helping Christians. http://www.aclufightsforchristians.com/
It is profound ignorance to claim that the ACLU wants to take Christ out of everything. The ACLU has the task of upholding the Bill of Rights. They do not make decisions they protect rights. You may disagree with those rights, but that is a matter of the Constitution and not the ACLU.
You have the right to practice your religion, you don’t have the right to impose that religion on others by using the government as your agent.

I actually agree with it. Not because I'm against religion though. The point is that government isn't supposed to be a religious thing, and shouldn't be involved. IF Christ is ok, how could sane people stop nuts from putting up some insane thing like perhaps an upside down cross etc. for Halloween on public property? Or, with all the weird religions, how could we prevent some group from wanting schools to give time not just for a Christmas type display, but perhaps for nuts sacrificing animals? Yes, that does seem a stretch, but look how things have changed in 30 years.

I think what they are doing is incredibly wrong! I wish I knew of a way to stop them.
They continually use the court system to get their agenda across by finding judges who are simpathetic to their cause. If some of their proposals were up to voters to decide on, there's no way they would get passed.
What to do about it? I really wish I knew the answer....

I know this is not right. I do wish I had some idea of how to stop it. I guess we should pray about it, and never back down on what you believe.
