Curiously, nowhere among all the random information on the net is there a comprehensive history of lawn gnomes. I believe the Roaming Gnome Travelocity ad campaign had something to do with it. There were lawn gnomes well before that (a small yellow birdie told me it started in Germany a very long time ago), but now people really love the little guys.

I have some really cute pajamas with Gnomes on vacation. I saw at target this year they have the sheets too, but my bed is cal king and the cute sheets only go to queen.
