I mean his career was kind of done. He said something stupid.

Should he be on every talk show apologizing or just continue to ignore him? I'd vote the latter but hey, I'm white.

Lots of racist boneheads out there of all colours and mabye some others just say things they don't totally mean. But when someone does, do we need this to be the "NUMBER ONE STORY IN AMERICA".

Forgive me if I just dont think your country's has been stars should be so important.

You know, for me, i have dealt with racial slurs..to my face, and behind my back, all my life. What he said, really doesnt matter to me. it just proves that racism is still sadly alive and well and some people are just too ignorant to pull their heads out of their azzes and realize what age we live in and that we are all human beings. i totally agree with you

I'm white too ... but I agree with your point ... in theory.
The thing is that is not how the US media and news works.
Maybe no one knows exactly how it works or where our
"national attention" will wonder ... kind of like any person's
attention. Something pops up and people talk about it.
I think you are right, Michael Richards is a minor person
who got caught and focused on ... now most people have
forgotten it. Recall when Jesse Jackson called New York
Hymietown ... he got the same attention. The media always
gets people mad at it, but there is no way I can see to decide
automatically or by decree what to focus attention on but
the "market" such as it is. It may get better when some of the
computer things like blogs and online voting get more mature,
but til then, just bear with it.

I personally tired of hearing this story over and over. He said something which was so wrong, and apologized for it many time, what else must he do to get things right. I believe he made a big mistake, and over reacted over what those guys were saying to him during his show, but come on people enough is enough. There are more important things than what Richard said. move on. He is not the first nor will he be the last racist person. They come in many different colos, white, black, brown , yellow a multi colored racist people, let's move on.

Im african american and in a way its offensive. But being honest, everytime i cut on the radio or watch tv thats how we refer to ourselves. If we want to demand respect from everyone else we need to start respecting ourselves first. I mean watch the Dave Chappelle show one good time and you'll see but its still very hilarious. I love my people but we can't dwell off the past especially when we forget about people who gave their lives like the great Martin Luther King, Jr, Medgar Evers and Malcolm X just to disregard the path they laid out for us and for us to have opportunity. And the saddest part about it is richard is only saying what every body says. He just wasn't at home at the time. Now can we please stop talking about race issues. God's not judging us off of that.

I'm sick of hearing about it already. The guy has always, had weird humor to me. I dint think this was a publicity stunt, but he sure has hit the front pages. I don't like what he said and I glad he was out of arms reach, but to drag on about it only helps his name ring.

I don't want him to apologize a million times.I want him to REALLY MEAN that he is sorry. It doesn't have to be the #1 story.I never even knew he had a career after Seinfeld.

Richards was heckled (foul language used, racial slurs spouted) by two black guys in front of lots of people. (I suspect you wouldn't have kept your cool either.) Richards reacted badly, yes. The two black guys have hired a lawyer and now want money for "damages". ---- Only in America.

Welll I don't really care, I mean that's what we call each other so why should we care if he's just doing the same thing he sees?
