A lot of celebrities develop personas that they use in public. It's part of the whole 'entertainment' package these days, like women wearing tight dresses with their breasts on a platter for every awards show.
They're actors and they're playing a role in order to get your vote and your dollars.

I have a friend who actually knows Jessica Simpson and he says she's actually quite intelligent. I think they act the way that we expect them to act. Basically, they give us what we want.

They do it all the time to make it in whatever field they are in. Why do the Rock and Vin Diesel always play Italians when they are both black(biracial). Early in Mariahs career her record sales where not so hot she reached out to black producers and hip hop artist to gain entry as a crossover artist. She is also black(biracial). We black people call it trying to pass.

yes, people in general mask themselves, but celebrities especially, they feel that who they really are isn't gonna please their audiences, such as beyonce i am sorry, but her personallity is fake to me, she is constantly trying to be perfact in the public eye and that is ugly to me, nobody acts like that all the time, come on be forrreal.
