I am planning to buy mom a new cooker since the oven in our one hasn't been working for a while and Xmas is looming!! Are there any brands other than 'Stoves' which are worth considering?

I had a Stoves Gas cooker in my previous kitchen, when I had a Magnet Kitchen fitted. It was recommended by the salesman because I do a lot of baking, and gas fan ovens give moister food results than electric ones. I loved the grill which consisted of large round heat spots behind a covered in glass panel - very clean - and also very easy to clean!!

You will find Stoves are just like all of the other makes. We have a Stoves, that has given us no problems and we have had it for @6 years. My mum had a Stoves in her last house and after just 4 months, it started falling apart. First the rings stopped lighting, then the oven started lighting continuously (even when already lit !).
Then a knob fell off, followed by a door handle!

Some are good and some are bad. Pay your money and take your chance, that's why they give a guarantee.

my mom is the queen of cooking and cookers! for thanksgiving she normally pulls out her four crockpots. She also has an old old old cooker... It plugs into the wall and you can cook anything from ham to a roast beef dinner in it... I'd go with one of those as apposed to a crockpot. hope this helps...
