My daughter said she wanted a Tycoon game for her computer. I thought she would like Mall Tycoon that I found on E-bay. I am under the impression that maybe I need something else before she can use Mall Tycoon. Can someone explain?

tycoon is a single game in itself. you have to look at the box for the mall tycoon game. if it says "expansion set" under the title, them you need to buy the origional tycoon with the mall one. computer games are like that. they make one base game, then they make smaller expansions that make the game better. its the gaming industrys way of making money.

No, although there are dozens of (fill this blank) Tycoon games, they are all separate games. I don't generally recommend buying software on E-Bay however. Try a retail site rather than an auction likely to be a pirated item. Also, the original Mall Tycoon is a rather old game, dating to 2002 and has been updated twice since. MT2 came out in 2003 and is available for about $10 at many retailers if they stock it at all, MT3 hit the shelves in 2005 and lists at about 20 bucks. Each of these is a complete game independent of the others.

no you dont need the original ones. if youre getting the 2nd mall tycoon, you dont need the first. but, if youre buying stuff that goes with the 1st or 2nd one, then you need the original game.
oh yeah, there is no 2nd one, it was only an example. and by the way, there is no additional stuff that goes with mall tycoon, there's just the game in its-self.

I believe that yes you do need the beginning verison, but i am not totally sure. You should check with an electronics person at either Toys R Us or others stores like that
