A girl has to be on birth control pills for a solid month before birth control pills are even effective. It's not like you just take one birth control pill and it becomes effective for that night of sex. But condoms are a good start against std's and pregnancy!

Please don't tell me that you're a chick. If you are, you need to go back to sex-ed and get a lesson in birth control.

Pills don't work like a condom. Unless you have the morning-after pill, birth control works by controlling your hormones. It's not just a quick thing.

Having a man carry around birth control would do nothing. If you don't continue taking it or don't wait until the hormones are in your body, it wouldn't do any good to protect from pregnancy.

No. Guys should carry condoms only.
Guys can't just distribute birth control pills to a potential partner. The female has to have them prescribed by a doctor and she has to take them for at least a month before she is protected from pregnancy.

Well, no, because you have to be on birth control pills for a few weeks for them to start working.

But I heard there's a new birth control pill for guys that's about to be introduced. Now, that's what I call a responsible option! It's effect is temporary. I think someone is going to make a lot of money with this!

and where might the guy get the prescription for birth control pills to carry around? Also, don't you think it's your responsiblity to make sure that if you are going to be sexually active, that you take the necessary precautions on your end to ensure that doesn't happen? If you aren't responsible enough to take your own birth control pills, you probably aren't responsible enough to be having sex. Why put the responsibility on the guy to make you take a pill before sex?

In order for oral contraception to work, the woman must be taking them at least a month in advance.
On top of that, the woman must have a prescription in order to have the pills so a guy just wouldn't have them.
Plus, there are dozens of different types of pills and some can give medical difficulties to some women. If a guy were to actually have some pills handy, he can inadvertently harm the woman if he insists that she take it.
So no, it's a nice thought to have the double protection handy, it just won't work that way.

Birth control pills do not work if taken on the spot. They have to be taken daily over at least a two month period of time to be effective. You need a presecription to get them and I doubt a doctor would prescribe them for a male.

Nope. Normal birth control needs to be in the woman's system for a while before it is effective. Plus there's always the risk that she'll be allergic to them. I've never heard of that happening personally, but hey, there are people allergic to Tylenol, so why not? Unless it's a morning after pill, it's simply not going to work. Plus, you need a prescription to get them. So, in summary--nope.

Bitrht control pills don't work that way. The female has to have taken the pill for at least 30 days in a row before she can even have sex...sorry!

Doesn't work that way...the pill needs to be taken for a prescribed period before it can safely be considered the sole form of birth control.

How about, um, knowing your partner well enough to know that she is in fact taking birth control pills on a regular basis?

BTW, it's "condoms."
