Sounds very normal!
A breastfed baby's stools are usually yellow, kind of like seedy mustard. They are pretty runny to begin with too.
If his stools are at least the size of a US quarter, then they count towards his daily dirty diapers. He should be having at least 4 stools per day at this age.

The yellow is because of newborn jaundice. The baby's liver is still developing when they are born. As a result, they are slow to process the billirubin (by-product of red blood cells). The extra billirubin comes out in their poops, causing it to look yellow.
Newborn jaundice can also make your baby appear yellow. Every newborn will get jaundice to a certain degree, so it's completely normal.
As for the smearing/not having a good poop... A lot of breastfed babies will go on poo strikes, where they won't poop for days. As long as they're farting away and don't seem to be in discomfort, it is more than likely perfectly normal.
So long as he's peeing freely, all is well.
At around 2 weeks the poops may change from yellow to more of a brownish colour.

My daughter had the same thing when I was breastfeeding in the beginning. Breastfed babies usually have looser BMs. And even formula fed newborns usually have a soft and yellow colored poop. With time the color will start to change as the baby's intake increases. But those first three months it is usually yellow colored. You shouldn't worry because you are doing what is best for your baby and offering him more immunities and nutrition than can be packaged. But remember that eating spicy foods can cause the baby to be fussy. My doctor told me that it can be difficult to keep proper nutrition and cook balanced meals when you have a newborn up around the clock. But the easiest way to alleviate that is to make frozen dinners (like Healthy Choice, Lean Cuisine, Weight Watchers meals) because they are less fatty and convenient. Also snack on fresh fruit and veggies. Dry nuts and granola are also good for you too. But drink enough water for two because you need it.

Yellow seedy stool is normal for a breastfed baby, it can be runny. All babies are gassy, some more so than others. A new baby can have a BM every time they feed. breast milk is a laxative. But if you do have concerns being that your little one is so tiny can the doc.

It's actually normal. Just be sure that you check each diaper to make sure there is no blood in his feces. If the problem bothers you then you should call the baby's pediatrician. Because most times the baby has to adjust to the milk whether it's breast milk or bottle fed formula.

OK funny story. This happened to me. When I had my son, I was breastfeeding him, his poop came out just like you described I got so scared I called his Dr, and I was crying. The nurse started laughing and told me it was normal, because he was being breastfed. It should be normal soon, or it may stay that way. Not a big deal unless it gets out of control, and you may have to speak to your pediatrician about it.

That is perfectly normal for breastfed babies to have runny yellow poop. And I remember VERY well it is just constant too. Their tummies are just developing also so is very common for them to be gassy. They have yet to develope al of their stomache enzymes.
