husband plowed out the driveway after getting 14 inches of snow. it took him 6 hours since we had also received ice about 2 inches thick. i spent 2 hours just shoveling the front porch and steps since we had winds with it of 30 miles an hour. Factories and state offices in our area were all closed and we did not even get any mail since the mail truck got stuck on the interstate coming this way!!! We live in West Central Illinois and we were really hit hard. Plus it was the FIRST snow fall of this season. Scared to see what we will be getting next. Hope everyone is safe, healthy and warm. Temps were 5 above this morning and are heading back down again. Burrrrr.

Wasn't as bad as Buffalo,NY. They are still cleaning up. from the late October snow storm. Kids could not go out for Halloween in some places. There were homes with no electricity, cable, telephone for 2-3 wksk. Just last week, one street was complaining that they still did not have their elect. People lost a lot of food. The goverment called help in from NJ,Wyom.,and other states. Plus having all the local workers working 12-18 hrs per day. THey were really bad off.

We had our own snow in Texas on November 30. We also had sleet, ice, and totally effed up traffic. I didn't go to work. It was already my day off, so it wasn't a "freebie" or anything. But the snow drifting lazily down in the neighborhood was nice and relaxing. That was Thursday. By Friday noon it was all gone. Sunny and "warmer" again.

Thats a lot of snow. I don't live there, but my family does, they had the day off.

I'm bummed about it because we got NO SNOW in Indianapolis. I think it snowed all around us....usually happens that way.

i live in indiana, we got no snow at all here, just lots of wind, freezing rain and 20 degree weather.
