Currently we are able to teleport atoms over distances of several meters.
However, to put into perspective how fast quantum technology is moving, only two years ago we were only able to teleport atoms a few micrometers.
Teleportation might be possible with giant leaps in quantum and nanotechnology. I wouldn't expect to see it in your lifetime, but it doesn't look like an impossibility over the next few centuries.

Not extremely easily, but I have a theory on it myself and am developing it to submit for testing commissioning.
For copyright reasons I can't explain my own, but it involves taking away electrons from the outer shell of atoms, this solves the 'have to travel through space, but can't travel through matter' problem that prevents teleportation...

Awesome subject to wonder about :-)

There have been theories for a while.
But our technology is still in its infancy stage and we are still having to get from one place to another the old fashioned way.
I doubt we will see it occur in this century, but as fast as technology is growing, who knows. They might get something to work, but it won't be humans at first. There is a lot to overcome before they get that far. And like I said, we are at the beginning and have so far to go yet.

Scientists have been able to destroy and remake a particle in another place...but teleporting people is unlikely, even very far in the future.

i imagine that if we were able to harness the immense electrical power it would take to energize all the atoms in our body and radiate them towards a target, we would also be able to create and store the power needed to somehow exceed the speed of light.
yeah, go star trek.
i agree that it would take mind boggling nanotech and computational power to analyze and store all the anatomical information your body has. it would be an even greater task to reassemble all that data in another place.
oooh. if our bodies and even soul could be converted into energy and then into data, could we be stored on digital media, and then stored like fine wine?... HA

To give you an example of how much data you would have to translate to digital, a human being would fill enough CDs to stack from here to the moon.

there are many therios about it and it is possible, Scientist think that if a black hole for instance is rotating it can be a gateway through time and space sine a black hole is a rip in space and time.

i see it as being almost impossible but i guess someone could figure it out in the far future.
