I just posted a question like a week or so if my betta was sick! It wouldn't swim as much, wouldn't eat at all, and had lost some colour. Now he hasn't moved from one corner of the fish bowl, has developed a really scary big white spot in the middle of his eyeballs, some disgusting white cloudy things are hanging from his mouth and all around the fish bowl, and his fins have turned a dark blue, maybe black colour and they look shorter!! What is wrong with it!? It hasn't moved for 2 days straight!!! IS IT DEAD?? If it was dead wouldn't it have floated to the top??

From the sound of it he's dead, and rotting. A betta unlike most fish needs to go to the surface to breathe. If he hasn't gone for air in a couple of minutes he's dead. Also you could just touch him with something a see if he moves.

PS- If he's not dead yet he will be. You should read up on betta care at the following links.

Yes,bettas don't float to the top like other fish do and the white things are fungus. If he doesn't come up for air anymore for like ten minutes he is definetly dead.

Fish dont necessarily float when dead.
Have you been treating with any medicine? It sounds like the poor thing dosen't have much of a chance.

If it is dead, it will likely lay on it's side. Try tapping around the tank to see if he moves at all.

we had the same thing happen to a beta, and sorry...but it was definately dead. They seem to fuzz over very quickly (over night)...the best thing to do is to flush it down and say your good-byes.
Make sure you clean your tank thoroughly before replacing your fish!
p.s. never use regular tap water for a beta or any other fish.

Your tank might ave a disease called ick(I think thats what its called. Not sure of the spelling either.) They have stuff at pet stores to treat it, but it sounds like your fish isnt going to make it. Im sorry.

Take a look at its gills, if they are moving then it is still alive, if they aren't moving then it is dead.

your Betta fish is probably not dead Betta's aren't really active unless it has another fish with it. it probably has rabies , maybe you should take it to the vet.
