This question is very difficult to answer. When someone asked Rockfeller how much more money you need? he replied 'a little bit more' which means even the richest people find themselves threatened of becoming poor so they keep pursuing making more money, in the bargain they risk everything they own. Their committment overlaps their ability to enjoy wealth.
In the 1900's being rich was meassured by ones ability to take weekends off and ability to eat out dinner during weekends. Nowadays many eats out even twice or thrice on every day. So the matrix has changed. Owning a Lincoln then was only possible to a handful of people and now many milliions owns them. So being poor or rich nowadays don't make any difference. Every body works out to make that little bit more fearing risk of failure.

Being rich has different definitions for everyone.
If you mean financially due to my asset column being bigger than the liability column then YES.
WHY ? Because I chose to be. I chose to keep most my money rather than spend it, or if I do spend, I spend it on things that will make me more money such as stocks.

Yes. My great-grandfather invented electrons, so we still get royalties from every electrical power utility on earth. A dollar per kilowatt-hour.
