it really depends. i did this about 4 years ago for a science project. but i had to be in it and paddle it across our 50 meter pool. it took me 16 seconds to paddle it across. and then we just chilled in it. you have to examine the amount of water displaced from you being in it. and then see how quickly that much of the cardboard would get soggy and fall apart. =]

Not sure, but if I were you I`d wear a lifejacket just in case.
