The good times?
That would be Irish songs by the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem... "Up the long ladder and down the short rope..." and "The wren, the wren, the king of the bush, on St. Stephen's day..." My mom is a big traditional Irish music fan, and I inherited it from her, good Maritimer that I am.
The bad times?
Another from my mom's vinyl collection: Lay down your weary tune, by Bob Dylan. *sigh*

Well I can't pick just one, but the songs I sang when I was little, like nursery rhymes and Girl Scout songs are the ones that remind me of that time the best :)

Anything by Elton John. I remember going to my Dad's softball tournaments on the weekend and sitting around in between games eating sandwiches and listening to the radio and it seems like the Elton John songs are the ones I always remember (Tiny Dancer, Benny & the Jets, Philadelphia Freedom,...)
