1863 is somewhat a unique year since we were in the middle of the civil war. US minted coins included (supposed), Indian princess on the 1 cent, Liberty head on the three cent nickel, and Seated Liberty on the half dime through dollar. Also a Liberty Head design on the Dollar through 20 dollar gold coins.
1863, though, saw thousands of tokens being minted to help alleviate the coin shortage, (caused by people hoarding coins during the war). I see many more tokens dated 1863 than authentic coins, so chances are the coin you are looking at might be a token. If it is copper and does not have an indian princess on one side, and a wreath and shield on the other, then it is a token. They are very collectible themselves.

This is kind of a trick question since lady Liberty is on more than one denomination of a 1863 U.s. coin. :-)~

It is a representation of Liberty and not a specific individual. This type is commonly referred to as the "Seated Liberty" type. In the 1860's, 10, 25,50 cent and $1 coins were struck of this type.
