easy, i trained my fish to dance by moving the container of his fish food back and forth in front of his bowl. then to get him to do that same move while swimming upward you take a pinch of food and hold it above your fish and move it back and forth. later you can add music to it. lol

Start with its food container in your hand. Move your hand in the way you want it to dance, slowly though.
Then a month later you can move onto a smaller container (feed it from this container a few days before you actually switch to it ), speed up the hand movements a little (same move).
a month later: Smaller container (repeat the same process above), stay at the same speed.
Keep that up for a while (could take a lot of time).
The last steps should be no container, just a pinch of food in your hand. And then no food.

Just remember to give it treats for a job well done.

Goldfish do not have a memory span of three seconds. those human beings are incorrect. They do have thoughts and they do imagine. even if, they likely do not have emotions for you. except the actual incontrovertible fact that they understand you're the only which brings them nutrition! although, as somebody else has stated, it is not any longer a possibility to understand. they could love you larger than you want them. :)

Put the fishtank on a hotplate-as the twemperature increases, they'll dance. Just don't let it boil-because they'll stop moving completely then!

food is the key.
and rewarding their natural behavior. This is how you train all animals.. and people too i guess.

so, use visual cues to trigger a behavior like shaking or even doing loops.. and then reward with food...
