is there any way to record phone conversations on the pc by connecting the phone line to the modem and using a software???
if it is possible please let me know how and if possible the software to be used

No, under almost every circumstances ... however, there are some devices that are modems, and can function as fax machines or phone answering machines as well.

These special "modems" are not just modems,but in fact multi-use computerized telephonic devices. If you have the right software you can use these devices to record a conversation.

But most plain modems will not do this because they do not need to and it costs to much to do for a plain modem.
