I did not attend the art institute of Seattle, but I know a number of people who have. It is an art school that specializes on graphic art, and/or commerical art. One girlfriend I knew who went there said they housed people in the Seattle U dorms, but now the Art Institute moved from Capital hill to Queen Anne, so I don't think they still do that. Another friend teaches computer animation in CA, and considered a position Art institute. He liked what he saw there, but decided he didn't like the rain. Call the Art institute and get a tour, sit in on a few classes, ask to talk to some alumi, they should be able to give you a few contact.

Cornish is also a great art school in Seattle, but it is a fine art school, meaning you graduate an artist. My friend who graduated from the art institute worked in the marketing dept of a large bank in Seattle writing copy and designing ads. My friend you attended Cornish had gallery opening and sold his paintings. You can, of course, do both but each school kind of focuses you in one direction or the other.

Good luck

If you haven't seen it yet, perhaps try this:

http://community.livejournal.com/ai_seattle/

Yes, it's a link -- but one directly to the AIS Livejournal community, not just a generic website about AIS. Probably a higher quality bet for getting good, first-hand information than this Yahoo Answers system.

PS. Cornish and the AIS are two distinct institutions.
