I have never been arrested, but have worked for the police in a civilian capacity. A friend of mine and who is a police officer stopped a speeding motorist and when she issued him with his HORT 1 she asked him if he could produce the following documents : Certificate of Insurance, MOT, Driving Licence and lastly his Pilots Licence. The offending motorist replied that he could produce the first three documents, but didn't have a pilots licence, to which she replied, "Well you should have, the speed you were going". The motorist reported her and she got a big time b****kin. So I guess my answer to you would be, all depends on the officer who stops you. A lot of officers I know have great senses of humour.

I suppose if you get arrested often enough , you develop a sense of humor about it.

I once hear a cop in an car park alley complain to a criminal that had apparently arrested (by him) on more than on occasion. That he didn't want to start shooting because that was too much paperwork... So it definitely happens on the flip side.

I have only been arrestede once I think and the police seemed to have a limited intelligence so I think that their perception of humour is severly impaired. So I wouldf advise you not to unless you would like to clean tyhe blood off the cell floor.

Yes, every week, after being out on the lash I make jokes with the Police when they lift me off the gutter.

I tried to be nice to the nice kind policeman who arrested me, because I slightly fancied him. But I wish I hadn't bothered - he took my driving licence off me. So now, I will not ever joke with them, flirt with them ... anything!

(And yes, before you ask, I DID deserve to get my licence revoked. It WAS my fault!)

You cannot joke with people who do not have the brain power to think for themselves let alone a police officer who has the brain cells of George W.Bush
