This question is because part of a 7 year old's stool was quite dark along with some stool that had like "little balls" indicating probable constipation.

Although there are many foods and food colorings that may darken your stool the concern is that you may have blood in your stool thus I would strongly advice that you see your physician and ask for home fecal (stool) occult (not able to be seen) blood test cards and when you return these to the office the physician will be able to tell you in seconds if blood is present.

Any of the green veggies can do it. Any vegetable that is high in iron. The iron is what causes dark stools. Bananas if you eat too many can make you constipated.

^^^ the only reason why those cookies would turn your stool green is because of the sugar, sugary foods turn your stool green, while foods high in iron will make your stool have a dark color

Green foods will make stool dark. Also if you have eaten any pillsbury cookies with the black, like the kind decorated for Halloween, they can turn your stool green.

foods with a high amount of iron or iron supplements. I would still suggest going to see a doctor on this one just to be on the safe side.
