My husband is (was) a vet of the Gulf War. He is deceased now. He passed away in a VA hospital. It's been over a year and the VA hasn't decided if my daughter and I are entitled to any benefits YET. Imagine that...he was willing, and gave his life. Now we do without. I'm told by my service worker there's plenty of people to do the work at VA but they had offered a early out retirement, many people took it, the VA hired replacements, they're STILL being trained so the back log gets worse and worse because none of the new hires have a good handle on how to process the backlog of claims. It's a dam shame that this is the way we treat our vets and their families. It makes me sick and I'm sure my husband would be appalled. I stood by his side through many months at sea - more at sea time than shore duty - He missed family events, he risked his health and life and we, his survivors, get kicked in the face.

The V.A. Hospital is always under funded. Why? Because Americans do not want to spend the money on the Veterans. Look at the history of the V.A. The people who run the hospital will request more money but the people in America says "NO". When the war is over the Veterans will be forgotten. History will show that.

the main needed techniques that the human beings can wrestle worldwide warming is getting rid of their older style autos (1979 Buick) because of the fact, older autos emmitt greater poisonous fumes into the air. Its obtrusive that the greater technological progressed a vehicle is, the less risky gases it emmitts. A vehicle that replaced into geared up 3 or 4 years in the past would be greater financial device friendly than a vehicle that replaced into assembled 35 years in the past. for best populated towns which includes manhattan, Bus and Taxi companys could replace contemporary automobiles with autos that are powered by making use of hydrogen or electrical energy. in basic terms think of, if each important city used the Toyota Prius as taxi's, there could be a decreased point of pollutants, and additionally taxi fares could be extensively decrease besides.

Because we went in without a defined exit strategy. Rumsfeld wouldn't allow enough troops to be used to subdue the country. While we were sending them there we also cut back on veterans benefits.
And at the same time we told people that complaining was unpatriotic. So nobody could point out the issues without the patriotic mob attacking.
The government also made it illegal to show returning vets, dead or injured, so most people have no feel for how many American lives are really being destroyed by this political adventure.
Disgusting.
The military have my absolute support. The bastards who spend their lives on lies do not. The military are not responsible for how they are commanded and Bush can burn in hell.

It is due to money problems. There is not enough to go around. The government is trying to make do with a shortage of workers. There is not enough money to hire more help in the Veterans Administration. To much money goes to the illegal aliens, the Pet a Whale Foundation, the city of San Fransisco, the people on welfare etc. And to damned many pet projects of both parties.
This is the reason plain and simple.

I haven't heard about this. My son is the son of an Iraqi vet, and his medical has never changed from when he went to Iraq to now almost a years since his return. All of the medical stuff was supposed to be taken care of before being deployed. My ex also had insurance in case he was seriously injured or killed.

That is a good point. Few actions are being adopted to provide for the vets returning home to this debt-ridden country. Something needs to be done, but unfortunately will not be done.
