In ancient times any thing South of Narmada was considered as South India. (e.g. Second PulaKeshi was called as Dakshina Patheshwar) In Modern Times it is Karnataka ,Andhra Predesh, Tamilnadu and Kerala. Some times Goa (e.g. In Cricket) is also taken as part South India.
