im 13, 5 more months till my birthday. today im getting like pains in my lower stomach- ive gotten it before, though, like a few months ago and before that. it also hurts when i stretch, which is really weird. should i expect my period soon?

and my doctor said like a year 1/2 ago that i should get my period in 6 months (a year ago), and im getting really frustrated lol

AND (sry lol) i dunno if this is a problem but for the past 2 years ive discharged like everyday a LOT, like leaving stains on my underwear so im forced to wear pantiliners everyday, is that a problem?

thanks!!

Wait, you are getting blood stains every day?!? If so, go to a doctor soon. It's not normal to bleed every day.

Okay first off you need to see a doctor about the discharge. It could be an infection.

An increase in discharge before you start having periods is normal. It is the hormnes at work. I think I had the problem for about a year before my periods started but I am not sure. that was about 40 yeras ago.

it is not abnormal for a girl to not start having her periods till she is 15 or 16. But a bit unusual. A sharp apin in your abdoman can be ovulation. The egg bursting from the follicle (if I am rememerig the name correcly) But most fo the time we are unaware of it.

Chekc out your nutrition. Diet is important. YOu need to eat a balanced diet to be healthy enough to have your periods. Woman who diet too severly can stop having their periods. If I remember correctly you do need a small amount of body fat to produce normal periods. I have been past menopause for over 10 years so it is a bit hard to remember it all, I have sons. LOL

A woman who exercises too much can stop having her periods and it can delay the periods of a young girl. Excercise in moderation.

But mainly just relax. You are still young enough that it is no worry. I am pretty sure 12 to 14 is the average of the onset mensus. It is right in there. And when it does start don't expect it to be regular.

Trust me on this, once you start you will HATE it! But when you reach menopause you will miss it. Always a doulbe edged sword.

Well, IDK about the pantyliners, but I have been discharging for a long time, and I finally got my first period yesterday. I WAS SCARED OUT OF MY WITS. But, I am sure that you will get it soon if you are discharging. I have a friend that the doctor told her it would be about 6 months, and she got it the day after. So dont worry, you will get it soon enough, Be happy you dont have it already. But you might want to have some Midol, and Pads or Tampons around in case it starts soon, you dont want to be unprepared like I was. I had to borrow one of my mom's boats. :)

You'll get it when your body is ready for it, but it sounds like you are well on your way. The discharge is not a problem unless you notice a greenish tinge to it or a very bad smell which could signal an infection.
