I don't usually agree with Steve J, but he is completely right. Democrats need to stand up for the ideal that legislatures are supposed to make laws and courts are suppsed to only interpret them. Bush v. Gore ought to be a good lesson in that regard. So should Roe v. Wade and Lawrence v. Texas and countless other examples of the judiciary usurping the law-making power from the legislatures of America. If Democrats have learned their lesson (which I doubt they have), then they will exercise their legislative might in Congress to fight back against the run-amok Supreme Court.

A sensible foreign policy based on the national interest of the US only. Foreign affairs was not a priority back in 2000, and it didn't hurt Bush much when he couldn't name the president of Pakistan in a pop quiz. However, Bush's naive, neoconservative agenda has so messed up the world that the first order of business should be foreign policy damage control, and getting out of Iraq, if God forbid, our troops are still there.
