miss is a woman who is not married
same with ms
mrs. is a woman who is married
mr is a man
m, i'm not too sure, but might be the french version of mr.?

Being older than dirt, I do know what M. is. That is the abbreviation for Master, which was sort of the masculine equivalent of Miss. It was the form of address for males under 18, as for example:

Master John Smith.

miss-(woman) not married
mrs- (woman)married
ms- (woman)neither married nor unmarried

mr- guy. doesnt say wherther hes married or not
m. no idea. ive never used it
