No extracurriculars except yearbook and some volunteer work and community service.

Would it be better for me to go to a community college until I get my grades straightened out, then to the school of my choice (Cornell University-School of Hotel Administration) and then further my degree in the prestigious business school of NYC- Stern University and STILL apply to all my choices??

You do not have the credentials now to get into Cornell.

Perhaps you can try for another, lower-level business-oriented undergraduate program with an eye toward transferring with stellar grades and school involvement, etc. The Fiske Guide to Colleges shows you which (among 300ish) schools have what majors/focus. Perhaps Northeastern University to start? Business school, "2 stars" for academics (vs. the 4 or 5 that Cornell would have) Or the community college route.

You have high goals, so if you're prepared to go for it, do. Start somewhere else, Cornell then NYU sounds like a tough -- but great -- plan, but you have a lot of work ahead of you. I hope you're ready for that.

(You might also want to read up on, or visit the website for "Colleges that change people's lives" ... lesser-known colleges that have tremendous impact on their students. There might be just the right place for you among those, who knows?)

Start out with a community college and get your generals. Its cheaper and the credits are the same as a regular college or university. I started out at a university and really wish I had started out at a community college. $3000 later I could of gotten the same classes for $1000.

Uhm with decent grades, and no extras i would say you probably won't be accepted into cornell, its a pretty good school and you need Good grades. Also did you not take you SATs and if you did were they good?!

I would say go to a community college and do good.

If you didn't take the SAT or ACT, not many places will take you.
