a better word is precise.
math can tell you the best answer to some question, but it may not always have just one answer, like sqrt(4) can be 2 or -2, and it may be approximate if you consider the accuracy of your measurements, considering error.
It is very useful to have the best answer to some question or problem because it can mean life and death in some circumstances ... or lots of money ... or just knowing a fact you need to know, or finding a new law or rule.

mathematics is an exact science because the answer is exact. while there might be many different ways to approach a problem & equal ways to equate & exact an answer, all answers would be the same. no matter the complexities or simplicities of math, the old says of 'one plus one still equals two' applies. in the other sciences, the end product might vary depending on situational events, person/persons conducting the project, etc. the elements, natural or not; they all might alter the finish. in math, the beauty of the whole thing is that no matter who you are, where you're from or language you speak, math is a universal & therefore a universal language understood by all. neat, eh?

Because they follow laws based on each other. However it can't explain everything. 1 + 1 does not always mean 2, it can mean 3 for if two people sleep together then a 3rd being may be involved.

because math is absolute, there is one correct answer to every problem, and the world is based on math...2+2=4 only, it does not =5. there is no interpretation, bias, or perception. numbers are what they are, numbers.
