I never actually had a dream of being scratched, but I have woken up with scratches. But then..I have long nails.
I know when I was really little I had a dream that a bunch of guys were pushing me around and I said, "Go away boyyss!" and pushed them away. Turns out that I was talking in my sleep and I pushed my mom who was tucking me in.

You scratched yourself while you were sleeping or got scratched by someone or something, then you imagined it in your dream as an effect of the pain you felt, but being in an altered mindstate, it had to be translated to you in the form it was in. It's like hearing music in your dream and waking up to it playing or the like. It's how you respond to outward stimuli, they go into your dreams.

Yea i think it is common for problems in/on your body to appear in your dreams. Usually for me I am only half asleep when something like a scratch happens, i dont sleep through it.

You may have a spider or ants in your room and they are causing you to scratch but not hard enough to wake up. Try rearranging your furniture or at least moving it and vacuuming around it also change your linens and flip your mattress - sometimes ant just slip into the bed and unless you flip and clean around it you'll never know. Good Luck!

It's like pinching yourself to see if you are really awake. Your brain tells your body to do these things, even in your sleep. Weird, huh?
