Now that Toronto has signed Royce Clayton, and Boston is busy dealing with manny, who do you think julio lugo will end up with?
I mean there arent many teams...
The cubs want him to play center field? Does anyone think he will do it? '
The dodgers offered him a low ammount of arbitration and he wants a multi year contract, so you can scratch them off.
The mets have signed valentin, yet are still looking for another infielder... are they a possibility?

My money is still very much on him ending up in Beantown, with the Sox cutting loose Loretta at second to make way for Pedoria, you wouldn't want to go into your season with Cora/Pedoria as your IF tendam.

Most likely will be Boston. They need a lead off hitter at the top of their lineup, plus need a legitimate shortstop.

It is also believed the Cubs are interested in Lugo, and they are spending all sorts of money this offseason so it may be possible. However they have Cesar Izturis, know very well for excellant defensive, at SS.

The Mets I don't think are a possibility. They have Valentine and have Hernandez (2B prospect). Plus they are more focused on pitching than anything else.

Overall, Boston so far seems like the frontrunners for his services:

Nov. 28: The Boston Globe reports the Red Sox have made a formal offer to Lugo. However, the Boston Herald said that the Sox are believed to be fading from the lead in the Lugo sweepstakes and that the Mets and Dodgers now have a stronger chance at signing him. Blue Jays GM J.P. Ricciardi previously told The Toronto Sun that Lugo is seeking a four-year deal worth $32 million. Lugo hit .278 with 12 homers, 37 RBIs and 24 steals in 122 games in 2006, but struggled after being traded to the Dodgers.

He is most likely to end up in Boston. The sox let Gonzalez go to the Reds. Even with all the Manny talk they are still in the works of signing Lugo. Expect to see him sign in the next week or so.

I think the Julio Lugo watch is a TIMEX. Seriously the Red Sox will sign him.

Just because Boston are entertianing offers for Manny does not mean they won't do anything else.

Lugo is certainly still on their wishlist, and quite high. you trade manny you need offense.

Red Sox or the Cubs.
