I'm doing a scrapbook project on "The Things They Carried." Please I need ideas on what I can do with the cover, if you have experience with scrapbooking I would really appreciate your help...I want something original and extraordinary! Any tips? Thank you so much to all the helpful answers! :-)

Hmm, tricky.... I tend to gravitate towards silhouettes... Is this for a class? How old is your audience? The nice thing about silhouettes is that it can mute some of the more traumatic things about war, such as a solider carrying his gun can be just as powerful, but a young child could see it and it might be less graphic. Michaels has some nice stickers that are black and easy to use, cover them with a filmy wax paper to create a more smokey look. The other thing I might do is highlight some of the main components of the book, such as the stone, or tea-soak some paper to make a letter look old. You can also use a smaller brownish stamp pad to distress the edges.

I might also look at various covers of the book online, like at Amazon.
