I'm going to get a Wii, but I am wondering.. to play Twilight Princess I've seen video demonstrating the player having to swing the remote every time to make Link swing the sword. Is this the only option, or can you change settings to use the remote like a normal controller?

Thanks for any help :)

Yeah you have to swing the remote. I'm already towards the end of the game and have put in 54 hours of gameplay, and it has been two weeks.

You can't set the controller to your taste because it would almost be impossible to play.

No setting the remote as a regular controller. Even if there was an option to do this, I would never change a thing! Being able to swing the remote to have Link swing his sword is really fun and interesting. The great gameplay is overall the same from past Zelda games, OoT, MM, and WW. At first, playing this new way is a bit strange, and of course, I was unaccustomed to it. After a while I got used to it and now I really like it. I am only about 13 hours or so into it, but it is now my favorite game of all time! It feels like the other great Zelda games and I am truly suprised at the rating and review Jeff, at Gamespot, gave it. If you are having doubts about the controls, well all I can say is just get TP and play it. You'll get used to the controls and most likely really like them and love this superb game.

You do have to swing the remote most of the time, but not that much. Just move it back and forth in your hand and it does the trick. A lot of the time I just target an enemy with Z, and push the A button to do an attack. You can't do that all of the time, but you don't need to "swing" the remote all of the time either. You get use to it really quickly, and it is actually fun! You don't think about it after a while. I definitely recommend you try this game!

2 opportunities the following: a million) receive the game from the Wii keep Channel for $10. 2) purchase a Gamecube disc containing Ocarina of Time (a Legend of Zelda collector's disc for the GC consists of OoT, Majora's mask, and some different LoZ classics for about $30) because the Wii can play GC video games. this also will require you to purchase a million) a memory card (in case you do not have already got one) and a pair of) a GC controller.
