Does the moon still have a formational hot core, as the Earth does, or is it "cold" through and through

According to information from the Ujiversity of Utrecht, the temperature at the center fo the moon is about 1500 C.

The moon is a cold body. It does not have a hot core.

Any body that's big enough will have some internal heat at the core. Maybe not magma hot, but hot compared with the atmosphere-less surface.

earth's moon is cold. any internal heat was dissipated long ago.
