I have an opportunity to go to Key West fairly cheap with about six other guys (we're renting a house by the beach). I figure it may be a once in a lifetime chance. We are only casual friends (my best friends can't go) but they are good guys from volleyball league. I am divorced and figure 5 days of playing volleyball and drinking would be fun (plus I deserve it) but..... I guess I am wondering if the experience and nightlife would be worth spending the money when I probably shouldn't fiancially go.

My wife and I went there for our 10th anniversary last year and I was in a similar boat...couldn't really afford it but you only have one 10th anniversary you know. I didn't have as good a time as I could have cause I was constantly thinking about money while I was there. Food and drink are really expensive!

If you do go, and you decide to "worry about the money later" like I did, be sure to take the ferry out to Dry Tortugas National Park. It's like 100 bucks and it takes a whole day, but it was by far the best thing we did the whole time we were there.

my opinion...go go go. Spending money on "things" you cant afford might be something to regret BUT ...I'm a firm believer in "you only live once". You wont remember everything you ever bought but you will always remember your experiences. Go...and take in every second of it !!! Is there really any possibility that you'd regret it ?! I bet NOT !!!! ps. I'm also divorced...can I come too ??? hee hee . just kiddin
