I have been researching this buisness for two weeks now. Obviously, I have found more negative then positive. If you like this buisness, are you an IBO? If you don't like this buisness, where you an IBO? Do you think this "citical mass" will occure? I found a movie that is coming out soon called Believe (www.believethemovie.com). On this website i found a funny man mocking these kinds of businesses. AND he even said extactly what my mentor said to me... "you see how i answer a quesiton with a question" - yeah...
I think i have already descided to pass on this opportunity - but i want to know what is going on out there... what you all think... Have you heard about the 'google bombing' that has occured with quixtar?
ok... i guess that's it... thanks ahead of time!

Quixtar...or Amway, is one of the pioneers of the network marketing industry. They have a decent product and to this day contribute a great deal to charities.
Where they lost credibility, was with their marketing methods which appear cult-like to most people. They have some strange ways of trying to get people to join their organization and it really turns people off.

Amway went through the hyper-growth phase many years ago. Their timing was excellent with the baby boomers. The concept was that if you purchase your home products from your own "store" at a discount and find others to do the same, you will earn an income based on recruiting. You certainly couldn't earn an income that would get you ahead by just purchasing for yourself, but at the time, the boomers had children and it was in their best interest to buy at a discount.

But that ship sailed long ago. Because of their secrecy in getting people to come to presentations, uplines selling sales materials to downlines and just an outdated compensation plan, people were no longer making any money. I'm sure many still are, but they would have been with the company for a long period of time.

Your main market always needs to involve the baby boomers in some way if you want high sales. They have the most disposable income and are also open to alternate streams of income as most have been bit by the investing bug. They are empty nesters for the most part and are no longer looking to fill their homes with products and gadgets that they can purchase for less money in the stores. What they are looking for now is health and anti-aging.

They are also looking for updated marketing plans and when they find one, are quick to partake in it. They want simple.
But the boomers are not your only market if you have a product that is conducive to everyones lives.
The key in marketing is to keep your market wide open with a consumable product that absolutely anyone can use.
Your focus needs to be on your product and who you think could benefit from it.

Quixtar's compensation plan is extremely outdated and can be easily compared with others. People run for the hills when they hear Amway or Quixtar. They really have no one to blame but themselves for this image they have created.

Quixtar is another name for Amway they are trying to get away from the negative image they got in the 70s. Don't do it all you will do is lose ALOT of money. The products are good so if you want to buy the products go ahead. Don't get sucked into a scheme where all you are doing is making someone else rich.

Amway, Alticor, Quixtar, All pyramid schemes. My ex fiances parents were involved in it, and it put them 12 grand in the hole. Avoid it at all costs!!!! Ive seen the most educated people I know get into the whole B2B thing and ruin themselves. Do some more research, on the negatives.

it's my understanding that alot of people lose money with this type of pyramid or MLM, you'd be better off with a CDM (consumer direct marketing) Company, they take all the bad out of MLM, no inventory, no large investments, NO risks!!!
