In the UK we have a channel that seems to devote a large chunk of its schedule to ranking shows (3/4 hours of the Best Ever ..., with such classics as Adverts!). Now that December is upon us, it will be joined by every other channel doing their take, as though there aren't enough during the year with Emmys, Oscars, BAFTAs, Soap Opera awards et al.
As usual, I shall be retreating into the DVD collection again this year; Nosferatu and the Battleship Potemkin, with Pretty in Pink for Christmas Day (after Her Majestys personal address, of course).
