Economical, if you didn't save ahead (even if your company doesn't provide a great pension), you will still be receiving less money per month than you are used to.
Medical, You're older. Bodies wear down with time so you are more at-risk for illnesses and medical conditions.
Social, you won't see everyone from work everyday that you are used to seeing. Some of your friends may still be working while you are retired, so you may not have as much social interaction that you're used to.
Emotional, some people are sad. They have so much time on there hands once they are not putting in the long hours, they get bored or don't know what to do with their time. Or they may become sad due to the difference in their economical, medical, and social status. Others are perfectly hapy and havin the time of their life. Just remember that it is what you make of it. Is the glass half empty or half full?

everyone made it sound really gloom...not necessaraly, if ur in Britain for example,
economical, u worked for someone else all your life, now they are working for you. sit back, relax, and enjoy your state pension (in addition to any private scheme have). Also, free travel on trains and buses.
medical, statisticaly, u are getting more illnesses then younger people..but, thats not that big a deal, NHS is an excellet state health system that will take care of your health with outmost care and dedication.
Social, finaly(!)you have time to do all the things you really enjoy but never had time to do. in additiont to read, meet up with friends and socilise.
Emotional, well, you proably have a wife, and lots of grandchildren by now....isn't it so enjoyable to spend time with them, teach the ways, laugh and remeber your own mischefious youth.
:)
