Which one is grammatically correct ?

Where did he come from? ~or~ From where did he come?

There was some 1930's text book where a guy named Flower, I think, said that it's bad to end a sentence with a preposition.

Some people still follow this superstition.

Both are correct in modern American usage; the former is more modern.

Both, first one is american english, the second is english english. Too confusing???
