one- who cares what other people think of you!!Perr pressure is for fake people LOSERS!
two-you don't need to be a proffesional dancer to have fun at a dance party.
three-stop being so self conciuos about the way you dance if you follow what people are doing around you people won't really notice it. just dance normal and do what ever your friends are doing.

Most people learn dance by watching others, but if you really want some confidence, take some formal dance lessons.
Dancing "fast" to music; not touching you partner is more of the watch and learn. Practice in the bathroom in front of mirror. You don't have to flail around, just move to he music.
Slow dancing with a partner is more of a group move. A guy usually leads and he doesn;t know what he is doing much of time anyway. Just smile and tell him that you don;t dance very well and follow his moves. As he moves, you do the same until you get the rhythm.
Tale classes if you want. Ask a friend to help maybe....

Watch how people dance at the parties and ask your friends to help you how to dance. Don't be a fool though, if there is techno dance how you could dance to techno, hip hop dance how you would to hip hop. That goes for all of the categories and make sure you have fun. Dance how you wold dance alone in your room when music comes on, don't be insucure but dont tottaly let go because people will think weird things of you and if you dont want them gossiping behind your back then you wil try to be more reserved than dancing DISCO to "Smack That"

Ask your friends to teach you how to dance or just get out and move to the music. Dancing is all about what the music makes your body do.

You could also practice at home. Go to a dance... pay attention to how others are dancing (without giving a creepy stare) and then go home and practice. No one is saying you need to go out and win any competitions but you could pick up a few moves that way.

your body should be flexible in the first place, given any kind of music you should be able to dance..but if your body muscles are not flexible, even if you try to dance, your movements will still be stiff. I suggest you try to practice in front of the mirror. I recommended the songs from pussycat dolls. Just picture yourself that you are dancing in front of a huge audience. Try to push yourself beyond the limit, your moves will come out naturally...happy trying

Go with the same beat as the music. Don't do anything crazy but just move your hips and always stay with the beat.
