I have to say that Tom Baker was the best of the original series, but i think the new series with David Tennant is excellent. I do wish that they would have a 3 or 4 part story instead of a single story an episode - it would be less drain on the writers coming up with new ideas.

First of all to correct Bella - that doctors name was Pertwee not Pertweet!!
Pertwee was a little before my time - hence my favourite is Tom Baker. Long scarfed with over-sized coat, hat and hair-style to make women today jeolous along with a mechanical dog that just kept running out of power were fabulous.
Hey, I am sure there are many who will disagree with this decision. My theory is that any individuals fave doctor was the one that was flying the Tardis when they were most interested in the program. It is ironic though that Mr Baker later played a doctor in a BBC medical drama series!!!

Tom Baker as i loved the scarf and the voice. However, William Hartnell was friends with my mum and lived down here in Sussex- so i should say him- but he was before my time.

The one from the late 70's or early 80's. The one with dark curly hair.( I think he had a space between his upper front teeth) I don't remember his real name. I don't really like the new one that is on the SCFI channel.

Tom Baker. All that brown curly hair, hat & thick scarf. The scripts were believable then, as well.

Tom Baker, without a doubt. He has great presence, and combined authority with humour.

Jelly baby, anyone?
