My first pregnancy I had 8.2 lb. 22in. baby. I'm pregnant again and I need to know from all you second time moms should if I should be expecting this baby to be bigger. I'm asking because I'm afraid that I'm going to birth a giant baby.

Talk to your doctor. He will be able to compare your 2 pregnancies and let you know.
I think that it is really funny that 10 years ago a 8lbs would have been considered a normal weight, but now it is huge. I would love to have an 8 lbs baby. My first was 10lbs 11oz and 24 inches. I am pregnant with my second and my doctor thinks that this one may be just as big if not bigger.
If your second baby is going to be bigger I don't think that you have to worry about it being way bigger. Maybe a few ounces, but defiantly not a 10 pounder or anything. Relax and enjoy.

Generally the second will be the same size or bigger. But it depends on your diet, your health, etc... If you develop gestational diabetes, like my mom did with one pregnancy, you could wind up with a 14 pounder. My first was 7 1/2 lbs, second was 11 lb 15 oz. Just eat healthy, exercise, and get plenty of fluids and rest. Try not to gain an ungodly amount of weight, but don't try to diet either. Good luck and congratulations!

My 1st pregnancy I had a 7lb 12 oz 20.5 inch baby boy..second time aroungs I hd a 9lb 5 oz 22.5 inch baby boy! I say it all depends on the pregnancy...genetics..and the women! Your 20 week ultrasound should be able to tell if the baby will be another biggin lol GOOD LUCK & CONGRATS..

p.s. I'm 18 weeks along with baby #3 and I have to have a c-section this time because the last baby and I had complications..but I'm still hoping for a smaller baby this time around LOL :)

For me, my first child weighed 7 lbs 1 oz, my second child weighed 7 lbs 11 oz, my third child weighed 5 lbs 12 oz, and my fourth child weighed 7 lbs 12 oz. With my mom I am the oldest and I weighed less then my sister. One of my aunts had her children go lower the more she had (She had 4) and another aunt had all them go higher as she had more except with her last one (She had 4, her third child weighed more than 12 lbs and she was a toothpick). Hopefully that was helpful to you and good luck.

just depends on the pregnancy (every pregnancy is different) there really is no way of knowing until the Dr. does an ultrasound.....my sis had 2 babies...the 1'st was bigger then the second...it all just depends on the baby and placenta

they usually say the second baby is smaller but not in my case.
My daughter was 8lbs 6ozs and 22 inches.
My son was really differnt. I had a ultra sound to estimate his weight and it said 7lbs 4 ozs. the day I had him .He was 9 lbs and 15 ozs and 22 inches.
Each case is different though

Most women have smaller and smaller babies with each pregnancy. That is not always true, my older sister was 6lbs 9oz, I was 7lbs 12oz, my younger brother was 9lbs 15 and 1/2oz (ouch) and my youngest brother was 8lbs 7oz, but it's the rule of thumb. Good luck and congrats!

Your OB care provider should have best answer for you. In my experience, birth weight varies tremendously. My first was 9.5
and 3 subsequent babies had lower birth weights. All healthy.

Normally they do get bigger my 1st was 7lbs 8 oz my 2nd was 9lbs 4oz and my 3rd was 10lbs even so its very possible this baby will be bigger than your 1st one.
