Of course, the same amount of money will buy a different amount of stuff and real estate in different states.
Hawaii is among the highest paying states. They were recently offering large sign-on bonuses for teachers who relocated to HI. However, Hawaii has many dangerous and inner-city areas. Connecticut is also very high, but so is cost of living.

Who suggested pay had to be larger? it quite is a few thing you pulled out of your anal hollow area. in case you have been a thinking individual, you might have suggested that the fee of dwelling is sometimes decrease in the pink states than in the blue states. you may even have suggested that there is no correlation between instructor salaries and student academic outcomes. D.C. public colleges are between the optimal spenders consistent with student, and function between the backside fulfillment. Detroit public colleges - properly, desire I say greater? you additionally can choose to word that instructor unions have succeeded in killing classes and colleges that weren't unionized, yet which had larger academic achievements at decrease expenses, which includes in DC or Oakland. you may no longer particularly factor to any authentic foundation on your claims that having a instructor union or larger salaries correlate to greater appropriate academic outcomes. And without that, the entire factor of your question is moot.

You cannot just look at salary. You have to also look at cost of living like mentioned earlier and see what other benefits you get outside of salary. For example, does the school system pay for additional education, or does that come out of your pocket? How much of your health insurance does the county pay? All that is salary.

A few years ago I think it was Alaska. Of course the cost of living up there is also darn high and you might have to live out in the sticks. I'm not sure if AK is still tops but I think it's near the top.
