As with all art, beauty is in the eye (in this case, the ear) of the beholder. In rock history, it's hard to beat Steve Perry of Journey and Freddy Mercury of Queen. For pop, I'd go with Mariah, though Aguilara and Whitney Houston (before the drugs robbed her of some of her range and smoothness) would be decent choices also. Some would say American Pamela Dillard, mezzo-soprano (classical vocalist) is way up there. Depends on what you like.
