=a couple of months ago my best friends grandson was accused of murder. The trial has not come up as yet. The family is devastated and I do all I can to be supportive. We even talk about the girl's family and how hard it must be for them as well. It is a tragedy for all but it is hard to walk away when you love the person who committed the crime. It is the same sad event for the family of the victim as well.

Well, my brother was incarcerated for crimes he committed; armed robbery, which is serious. Apparently, he would have hurt someone had they not given him money.

My sister married a guy who murdered their first born daughter. He was an in-law and we never liked him to begin with, so I guess you can't count him.

But I would be mortified if my siblings or my sons ever committed a crime like that. I don't think that I could talk to them again, though I would not feel I failed in any way. I would think that somewhere inside him was a sickness that he developed as he became a responsible adult.

Of course I'd speak to them, they didn't do anything to me. My cousin, even though it's nothing like murder, sold a lot of drugs and got caught. I don't care, he's still my cousin.

I do have a relative in prison who committed double murder. I do not have any contact with him.
But if it was one of my boys, I couldnt tell you what I would do. Of, course, it would be perfectly natural to think of myself as a failure since it would be my boy. But never talking to him again? I just dunno...
